101 Things in 1001 Days - Shamira West

I AM KEEPING A LIST OF 101 THINGS I’D LIKE TO ACCOMPLISH IN THE NEXT 1001 DAYS. FOR ME, 1001 DAYS (2.75 YEARS) IS A HAPPY MEDIUM BETWEEN WRITING A TO DO LIST AND KEEPING A BUCKET LIST. IT’S A WAY TO DREAM BIG AND MAKE REGULAR PROGRESS TOWARD MEETING THOSE LONGER TERM GOALS. HERE GOES!

Have you ever had a list of things you wanted to accomplish (big & small), but had no motivation or accountability to get them done? Well, that is how I have been feeling recently. Thanks to Mackenzie Horan's 101 Things in 1001 Days post, I am keeping a list of 101 things I'd like to accomplish in the next 1001 days (2.75 years). This will be a mix between a to-do list and bucket list. A way for me to dream big and work towards my long-term goals. I will update you all on what I get done by crossing out the items on the list, just like my first item! Keep a look out for updates. So here it goes! Wish me luck :-)

  • Personal
    1. Come up with 101 things {July 5, 2015}
    2. Strengthen my spiritual relationship with God
    3. Unplug for a full 24hrs (no internet, no phone, no television; etc.)
    4. Read for 30 minutes before bed every night for a month
    5. Read a least 20 books total {1. Redeeming Love} July, 2015 {2. The Body Book} February, 2016
    6. Go to the spa once a month for 6 months
    7. Buy a Vitamix{July 14, 2015}
    8. Become Fluent in French and or Spanish
    9. Vote in a non-presidential election
    10. (re)Learn how to play the guitar
    11. Buy my first investment handbag
    12. Buy my first investment shoe
    13. Buy my first investment dress
    14. Go a whole two months without biting my nails
    15. Buy my first MAC lipstick
    16. Figure out my personal style! (I know! I still don’t know what it is! My wardrobe is depressing)
    17. Donate to a charity I am passionate about
    18. Go a month without buying clothes or shoes{August 2015}
    19. Take a Career Risk – TBD
    20. Make my bed every morning for two months
    21. Buy a puppy
  • Financial
    1. Save up at least 6 months’ worth of expenses
    2. Build Vacation fund to goal amount
    3. Contribute more to my IRA
    4. Put 10 dollars in savings for each accomplished item on this list{$160 So Far!}
    5. At the end of 1001 days, put $10 in savings for each item not accomplished from the list
  • Family & Friends
    1. Take my sister out for brunch and hang with her all afternoon
    2. Cook dinner for my whole family
    3. Take my aunt & mom to the spa
    4. Send each of my closest friends a gift just because
    5. Send my dad a gift just because
    6. Spend a weekend with my cousins
    7. Take my cousins somewhere fun for a day
    8. Surprise a friend and family member for their birthday
  • Travel
    1. Visit two foreign countries{1. France}June 2016
    2. Create a travel guide on my blog
    3. Take a trip by myself somewhere fun
    4. Go on a road trip
    5. Travel to 4 new states{1. California}July 2015
    6. Travel with my girlfriends
    7. Travel with my mom and sister
    8. Do a staycation in my current city
    9. Go to Mardi Gras in New Orleans
